Engineering Activities Interim Seminar and Launch Event

Small-scale Innovations in Engineering Education

Day & Date: Tuesday, 18th January 2011

Venue: The Royal Academy of Engineering, 3 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5DG

Organised by: The Royal Academy of Engineering

Summary of the Day: The Royal Academy of Engineering has organised this one day event to enable the transfer of good practice across the HE STEM sector, facilitate its wider adoption, and encourage innovation. This event brought together the project leaders from the first two calls for projects funding by The Royal Academy of Engineering under the National HE STEM Programme.

The first call projects began in September 2010 and will finish by July 2011. The second call projects have just begun and will run for the remainder of the calendar year 2011. During this seminar, first call project teams shared their progress and outlined their plans for the remainder of the project, and the second call project teams outlined their project ideas and learnt about the work of other project teams.

A workshop, introducing the participants to some ideas and practices around evaluation, was also organised during the day. The outcomes from this workshop will inform project evaluation in a way that will not only enhance the project but will also provide evidence to underpin publication of the outcomes of the project.

Programme of the day, presentations from our first call project leaders and details on evaluation workshop can be downloaded from the bottom of this page.
