Engagement with Engineering Industries and Work Force Development

Employer Engagement plays an important role in the success of National HE STEM Programme. During all the three calls, the Academy invited expressions of interest from HEIs in England and Wales and attracted a good number of innovation projects that involve engagement with employers. Not only innovation projects, but also Education Research, Engineering for Society and Outreach projects also involve employer engagement.

After all three calls, the Academy funded 5 large-scale strategic Outreach projects and 61 small-scale projects in HEIs across England and Wales. The small-scale projects portfolio is comprised of 34 HE Curriculum Innovation projects of which 23 involve employer engagement, 16 Education Research projects of which 5 involve employer engagement, and 11 Engineering for Society projects of which 9 involve employer engagement.
