Foundation Degree in Power Distribution at LSBU

With today's ever increasing energy demands, there is a shortage of skilled people in the electricity industry. With this in mind LSBU teamed up with EDF energy and the Energy and Utility Sector Skills Council to develop a new foundation degree designed to help students develop some analytical skills and gain some industrial experience in Electrical Power Distribution.

The degree is 2 years full time (3 years part time) with the first year spent gaining the basic knowledge and skills necessary for the Electrical Power industry and the second year spent developing these into a more specialist area with an industrial project run and supervised by EDF Energy.

Entry requirements:

  • Mature students with work experience
  • BTEC National Certificate/Diploma
  • Access Courses, NVQs, C&GLI,
  • GCSE mathematics & English and one A level in a science subject
